Alright, first things first.. thank you for all the presents and well wishes for my birthday, especially Adeline, I finally found someone younger than me in my year and ya la i will remember ur birthday la. hahaha..

As i have said, pretty exciting course, visits to the botanical gardens and the horticulture nursery in malaysia coming up. I hope to have the chance to go down to the construction sites more often, so that I can get a feel of the job and how things work around there.

Alright, thats all.

I am truly excited about my course choice, even though it will be a very tough and long year ahead, It should do me good.

Lecturers and new mates been good so far. Looks like a exciting year ahead! =D

Eat/Drink/Watch/Enjoy

3 07 2007

Ok, as i have not been keeping the entires up to date, i shall do it all today. Sorry. hahaha

Caught transformers, not bad la. Didnt plan to watch it at all but got attracted by megan fox. ok.

So Sat 30th of june is the last day where the national stadium hosts a event. It marks the end of the stadium’s life. I personally felt that the place meant alot to me, as I have been there since i was young to watch football. It was a place of hope and joy, a place where u can hear the people sing the national anthem with pride and volume you wont find anywhere else. Its a place where the true singaporean spirit shines.

There were 2 seperate matches, first with the ex singapore and malaysia internationals. Legends of yesteryear like Quah Kim Song etc… great to see these men gather for one last match at the stadium that meant to much to them.

Then it was the match between the Lions and the Socceroos. Darn it. tough luck. We striked the post twice and missed a whole lot of terrific chances. screw it.  Nice crowd nice atmosphere. Nice weather. I love kallang. I will miss it.

Lotsa shouting and cursing later, the match ended and we lost 3-0. Yea i know.. sounds like a big defeat but hey, just watch the whole match before commenting. After over 90 shots on my camera and numerous videos recorded with my phone.. It was time for the closing ceremony…

I will leave you with some pictures of the day.

Ok, this young boy just makes me want to have a son myself. Right, not now… I am the sort who prefers the M82 sniper rifle, the sort who takes a long shot. No shotguns. hahaha..

And i went to Oasis Taiwan porridge for dinner today. Ok la. not bad.

Until next time. bye.

10 Klicks!!

25 06 2007

A whole lot of planning had been put into this and I would like to thank all parties responsible for the walk. It has been dang long since i last had some open space in front of me. So i decided to embark on this journey, of course with a couple of my friends who came along.

1800hrs: We met at Serangoon interchange and took the bus to Jalan Kayu.

1830hrs: Dinner at Mad Jacks. The food pics are all not uploaded as they were captured using my handphone camera. I will upload them the next time i transfer documents from my phone to the PC.

2000hrs: After a very full dinner, the group of us headed out towards Seletar Camp. We passed the original camp entrance. The Boundary had been shift back and now compromises of the East And West Camp. It is absolutely astonishing to find out from laurence that RAF Seletar was the biggest airbase outside of the UK during its prime.

2100hrs: After a darn long walk from the main camp entrance and pass the housing estates of the british officers in the past, we finally reached Seletar airport.

We saw alot of private jets and amongst the planes, a Chinook under maintenance in the ST hangar together with a EC 120 colibri.

I am sorry as capturing images of aircraft is prohibited. I didn’t want to risk a coffee session with the ISD so i didn’t try.

2200hrs: After a short stop at the terminal building, we made our way out towards the outer boundary of the airfield. I cant imagine how big the original camp was. We walked all the way out to the initial gate of the airfield, and we were not even halfway out to the original camp main gate.

2300hrs: Passing by seletar country club, and west camp road, we finally reached Yishun Dam. What can i say, i honestly didn’t expect much people but it was packed on a Saturday night! With couples, families and some car and bike nutters. Some of them even had a BBQ session on the Dam!

2315hrs: After a short break and ice cream for the rest of the team, it was time to move again. Our next stop was Northpoint SC. The route would take us along Yishun ave 1, fight at the first junction and pass the ring road and finally to Northpoint SC.

0015hrs: Finally at Northpoint, we took a break at the 24hrs mac and then planned on what to do. We initially planned to explore Seletar airport. But when we realised that we were walking fast and hit Northpoint before time, we decided to carry on and make sembawang beach our ending point.

0030hrs: After a quick break yet again, We started our second half of our journey. This time the route would be much easier, 2 straight roads all the way to the end.

0300hrs: We finally reached sembawang beach and it was time to spread the ground sheets for a break before the first bus arrives at 6! While the rest slept, i couldn’t. All i did was to stare at the stars and be on my own.

0600hrs: We took bus 882 out to Sembawang MRT and had breakfast before saying our goodbyes.

0830: I am finally home, reading the Sunday times while waiting for my hair to dry.

I would like to thank the group below for their effort and sportsmanship.

Me: Navigation and Equipment

Laurence: Historian and Guardian

Jeremy: Food and Water man

Junli: Safety

It has been a long time since i walked this long. So it was a great expierence for me. Fortunately I didnt have any injury, not even a blister. I dont know how the hell did you peole have blisters abrasions and what not.

I am sorry if i had to push you guys but hey, i just wanted to get there early to lie down. hahahaha..

alrite out!!!!

Under those masks..

21 06 2007

I know, there is something under those smiles and laughter. Its something more sinister, something that dosen’t fit in this world.

Its just a facade.

But its the only way to move along.

Ocean’s 13

13 06 2007

Alright! I am seriously running on fumes right now. I have not slept since the previous blog post.

——

The sky was high and clear for once. The surroundings were silent except for the passing traffic and the occasional breeze that picks up the dead leaves. It was hot. Scorching hot. The sun was high up and I was struggling in the heat.

The buzz in the distance ripped through the peaceful afternoon. A squadron of F 16s and F 5s headed in the western direction high up in the sky. Followed in the distance by 2 apaches flying very low. The sounds from their rotor blades were amazing. You know that the silent predator is here when you hear that sound. There is no way for you to escape. I picked my head up and forced myself to carry on. As the team stopped to take a rest, we saw the chinook flew past us.. its the advance party I hope. The game was on, i told myself.

Alright. before you ask me why did i end up in Iraq. I’m sorry, i didn’t. That was all i saw, on a normal peaceful day, playing football. hahaha. I loved the strong breeze. Its just so refreshing. Spent the whole morning playing football and went back for a breather before heading out to catch ocean’s 13 with the rest!

Omg, great casting, great acting, great show. 5/5 Beats fantastic 4 hands down.

I would like to watch it again. Advise to all who have not caught it yet. The humor may be a little too cold for you. hahaha.

alright i need sleep.

from the movie itself,

” See you when I see you again.”

Fantastic 4

13 06 2007

Ok. Before anyone of you start to swear at me for watching this show when i didnt want to…

I had free tickets. hahahaha..

Andrea and gang had a couple on hand. So i was called in to fill the spaces.

Nice show albeit abit short. I gotta admit that it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. In fact it was good. However, this isnt really my type of movie. But hey, when u have free tics and the company of nice ladies. Nothing really matters right? hahaha

Gotta go. tmr i have a football match at 10 in the morning and another movie to catch in the evening.

bye bye.
